Waiting for Christmas
Come, Lord Jesus,
Come into my heart.
Push past the garland
And bring a fresh start.
My kitchen is quiet
And my tree shines bright,
Surrounded by gifts
On this silent night.
Yet my spirit’s restless;
It searches for You.
Not a porcelain Child
With a dining room view,
But the Lion of Judah,
Closer than breath.
Prince of Peace,
Conqueror of death.
Come, Lord Jesus,
Come into my heart.
Sweep out the debris
And help me to part
With any idols
I’ve set on a throne.
Teach me to worship
And praise You alone.
Welcome, Lord Jesus!
Now Christmas is here!
For Your perfect Love
Has cast out my fear
And restored the joy
Of my salvation.
A gift wrapped in grace,
An invitation
To abide with You,
My Master, My Friend.
Light Everlasting,
Glory without end.
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV)
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
John 1:1-5 (NKJV)
